Firmly grounded in our Catholic heritage, we help all achieve personal excellence in spirit, mind and body.

Following the example of Christ, we respect the dignity of each person. We inspire lifelong learning and a loving, secure Catholic Community.

Founded in 1893, St. Mary of the Mills School is a diverse Roman Catholic parish elementary and middle school committed to providing a strong academic education based upon the instructional standards provided by the Archdiocese of Washington that recognizes both the holistic and transcendent nature of education and the learning potential of each student. The administration, faculty, and staff of St. Mary of the Mills School embrace their vocation and view it as a ministry both as a teacher and disciple of Christ.

VISION

St. Mary of the Mills School strives to:

  • Form students who are followers of Christ through discipleship by witnessing to the Gospel message as understood, taught, and proclaimed by the Catholic Church in both word and deed
  • Help everyone achieve educational and personal excellence in spirit, mind, and body by encouraging all to explore and develop their God-given gifts and talents while embracing and celebrating our differences
  • Inspire life long learning in a loving, secure, caring, respectful Catholic community by modeling the example of Christ as servant leader
  • Foster the relationship between administration, faculty, staff, and parents understanding that Catholic education is a partnership where the parents accept the responsibility as the primary educators of their children while the school provides the formal education of the students
